Today I awoke early, for one of the most important days of my life, a great lead regarding an employment interview. I became incredibly concerned, because it has already been a while since I have interviewed, and I was struggling to get much sleep last night. The interview was at 5 , and as a result naturally I got up at approximately 8 and took a shower, and got out my best dress clothes. I didn't prepare like I really should have, even if I did use the web and rehearse quite a few possible questions, I counted on my personal love for learning to pull me through the job interview.
I was looking at a 40 min drive ahead of me, considering that the junior high school that I was interviewing at wasn't close by any stretch. This was my first-time actually going to the school, so I ended up being anxious about traffic, nevertheless fortunately there was not much traffic and I managed to get there in time.
Immediately after I got there, I began to pump myself up. One problem which I had when I arrived, ended up being that I needed to use, very badly, the restroom, which would have been awful in case I had to be seated through a long interview whilst concentrating on holding it in. Maybe it was on account of my nerves, but I simply had to make a run to the restroom, big time, as soon as I got there. I guess I timed it flawlessly, because sure enough, as soon as I opened the restroom doorway, the interviewers were ready to question me.
My first question couldn't have been any worse, boring or tough. "Tell us a little about yourself", are you fooling with me? Well, I was ready for this, and I told them regarding how I graduated from the area college, precisely why I began teaching, precisely what I had achieved with my past line of work, and exactly why I might be a great match for them. Each question they asked to me, I was ready for, surprisingly. I was pretty delighted, it wasn't quite perfection, however it was sufficient. Around 4 hours after the interview, they called me to share with me that I had the job offer! My initial day of junior high school begins wednesday! The one question which did me the most good, I believe, was actually a question concerning phone calls to parents, in which I had a wonderful response for. I inform them that calls home didn't need to be some thing to fear, and that I liked to call to let the parents know great things about their children. The benefit for this is two fold. If I am contacting home, I don't want parents to think it has to be because their child was in trouble, which is the 1st reason to call home with good news. The 2nd reason, is the parent could then praise their child, and let them know concerning me, making the kid look forward to visiting my class more often. To sum up, I am pretty ecstatic for tuesday.
